Tweet Your Way To A Job At Likeable #likeablejob

My head has been spinning from all the exciting things happening at Likeable recently. Some of things I am most proud of include our CEO writing a New York Times bestselling book called Likeable Social Media. We also recently ranked 118 on the Inc. 500/5000 Fastest Growing Private Businesses. Even more recently, we found out that two of our employees, Jenna Lebel and Mallorie Rosenbluth, are being honored as Social Media Stars by the Social Media Society. On top of all that, Likeable is growing and we need some fresh, new talent. We want you to be part of the Likeable excitement. That’s right people, Likeable Media is hiring!

We are looking to hire a Social Media Strategy Director in our Boston or New York office. You need to have 1-3 years agency experience as well as experience in social media strategy. You must also fit with our core values; passionate, driven, transparent, thought leader. For more details on the job you can read about it on our LinkedIn or Mashable job posting. If you’d like to apply, then keep reading.

Sure, you could always just email me a cover letter and resume (cara@likeable.com) the old fashioned way, but if you’re up for it, we want to try something new. Likeable Media will be hosting our first ever live Twitter chat interviews. On Monday, October 3 at 2PM EST we will be inviting all qualified applicants to join us. I (@Caraizzle) will be moderating the interview and will be monitoring the chat using hashtag #likeablejob. This is your chance to stand out and impress us with 140 characters. We will review the transcript after the chat and contact applicants we are interested in pursuing further through DM. Look forward to seeing you there!

This sounds like an awesome opportunity. Had I not started a new job a month ago, I’d be completely in on this.

If I lived in either one of those locations I would so apply for this position. It would be a lot of fun and the interview process via the tweetchat looks like it would just be amazing. Congrats to the growth of the Likeable company over the course of the year and the book.

That is one of the best ideas I have heard in a long time. When I get to the point of needing more employees in the future I may try this tactic. Good luck with this, and good luck to whomever is chosen as the new Social Media Strategy Director!

Nice thinking (as always) Likeable. I’m sure you’ll have great success with this.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a terrible idea? Likeable Media is ensuring that people who are already employed can’t participate in this twitter interview. Or if they do, they run the risk of publicly letting their current employer know that they are looking for a new job. Sticky situations ensue.

I’m all for using social technologies to connect with people and find really talented folks, but this lacks some basic logic. I really hope you are using additional means to find someone to fill this position.

      Hi Christine,

This is one of MANY recruitment efforts that we do, including massive outreach to people in the industry who are currently employed. Plus, there’s always the option of sending a DM! :)

Like Likeable Media vision giving people an opportunity to share their passion and skills. The company photo shows smart, happy, motivated and balanced people who love technology so much they keep their smart devices from the ocean edge. Can feel the energy and enthusiasm. Its contagious. I’m ready able and willing.

This sounds like an amazing idea. I will be there!

Not only does this allow for interviews with candidates from all over, but it also gets to the heart of who really gets social media, and how they interact online.

I am really looking forward to seeing how this all turns out!
