Earlier today, Inside Facebook blogged about the "I <3 being in bed" public profile selling status updates on Ebay. Then, AllFacebook writer Nick ONeill notes that SocialReach has been taken down for violation of Terms of Service.
All of this is going down as I am on a conference call with yet another business that is set up as a personal profile.
Terms of Service CANNOT be terms of sometimes. You can't enforce some and then not enforce others. I've taken a lot of heat on this position before, but if Facebook allows certain infractions (like non-official Public Profiles) and then enforces others, they are sending a mixed message to advertisers, developers, and individuals.
Terms of Service cannot be Terms of Sometimes. Period
