In today’s Watch Me Wednesday video, Dave discusses the impact of social media and technology on religious services. With Jewish holidays right around the corner, (Happy New Year to those of you who celebrate!) Dave plans on attending this year’s service on his BlackBerry through http://MobileJudaism.com. Jewish holiday services this year are being streamed live through Facebook, and on many smart phones through our probono client, Our Jewish Community – allowing people to actually talk with one another online during the services, instead of “being quiet and just listening”. Social media has become a great way to engage your religious community, whatever it may be. Would you be ever consider “attending” a religious service on your phone or on Facebook?
