By Amy Slife ‘Tis the season for Facebook promotions. Facebook promotions in the form of contests, giveaways and coupons are a great way to not only give back to your current fans, but to also drum up new ones by providing them with a fun reason to "Like" your brand’s fan page. Here we’re detailing three easy tips that will help any brand, company or service, boost the success of their Facebook promotion.
- Teaser Messaging: Instead of posting to the wall the moment the contest starts, let your fans know something special is coming up ahead of time. Simple teaser messaging is a great way to alert your fans to something fun and upcoming without giving away all of the details. In addition to alerting your fans to future promotions, you can also encourage them to check back more frequently on your page. Potentially, this could generate more interactions and comments outside of the promotion on your page as fans check back for the launch. In addition, teaser messaging will also result in an increased number of entries for the the promo, contest or coupon since fans know there’s something to look for.
- Facebook Ads: Another great way to give your promotion or contest a boost in entries or redemptions, and even drive "Likes" while you’re at it, is through in-line fanning ads. A small ad spend can do wonders for grabbing more "Likers" for your page when you have something special going on. No better reason to become a fan of a brand than to score a discount through a coupon, or a chance to win an awesome prize.
- Integration: What better way to boost your Facebook promotions than to integrate with your other marketing channels and platforms? There’s a great opportunity to get some of your most loyal fans, like email marketing subscribers, to not only participate in the promo or contest, but also to provide a new incentive for those fans to Like you on Facebook too. Depending on the length of the promotion it might also be reasonable to cross promote in-store, and through direct marketing as well in order to spread the word further.
