Dave is live from MTV in this week’s Watch Me Wednesday where he is reminded of “Video Killed the Radio Star.” In 2011, is social media killing the television star? In the age of tweeting and iPhone apps such as GetGlue, the role of social media is effecting the way that users watch television. Some might say that social media is enhancing television viewership. According to Twitter’s own Robin Sloan, “[Twitter] gets 90-million-plus tweets every day, and ‘a lot of those tweets are about TV shows.’" But, are a lot of these TV shows actually being watched on TV? Or are they being watched online?
