What Would You Tell Your Younger Self?

By Dave Kerpen

In this week’s Watch Me Wednesday, I share a new, very likeable project called @AYoungerMe. My friend Leo Widrich at BufferApp created this crowdsourced social experiment. Anyone can add a tweet to the account by emailing their lesson that they wish they had known when they were younger to ayoungerme@to.bufferapp.com. Anything that’s in the subject line and under 140 characters will be added to the Buffer list!

Here is what some people at Likeable wish they had known when they were younger: “Go after what you want, and don’t settle for less.” -@CarrieKerpen “Things won’t go as planned but that’s ok.” -@TheresaBraun “Speed limits ARE a real thing.” -@Gabb_ing “Practice more at speaking another language.” -@RickyDricky

What would you tell your younger self? Share in the comments (and with Buffer)!

Along what you said, Dave, I would tell myself to write more. At 12 years old, I decided I wasn’t going to be the next Jane Austen, so stopped writing completely. For 10 years I didn’t write anything I didn’t have to. I’m so glad I finally snapped out of it and began writing again – I had forgotten how much I love it!
