Should You Buy Snapchat Spectacles? The Likeable Media Edition

Snapchat Spectacles and a Likeable Media foam hand

By Brian Murray, Director of Talent & Culture

The Likeable Media team has been following the Snapchat Spectacles launch since the moment Snapchat became Snap: A Camera Company. We were intrigued and skeptical about what they’d be like. Would we want them? Would they be useful? Would they change everything we know about the world? Would they flop like Google Glass?

When the Snapbot starting appearing, we had an idea. We put a company-wide cash bounty on Spectacles. While we didn’t know the next location, we were sure that eventually they’d arrive in New York City. On November 21st, the Snapbot landed in a shop near Apple and Michelle Greenbaum sprang into action. Seeing that it was trending on Twitter, she immediately got off the subway and waited in line. Originally, she was told she’d have them by 10:00am, but she didn’t make it to the office until 2:30pm. She was able to buy two pairs, one for Likeable and one to keep for herself. Since then, we’ve been experimenting with them by doing some fun content for clients. We’ve also been sending them home with our employees to get their impressions. Below are some of their thoughts (paraphrased when necessary).
