What We Did
The Pampered Chef launched a page for their brand on July 15, 2010. The goal was to gain 50,000 fans in 6 months and use the platform to engage with their brand advocates, connect with their consultants as well as attain new consultants and customers. Without any ad spend (either within the Facebook platform or elsewhere), they hit 10,000 fans by noon on July 16 (just one day later) and 50,000 fans just 10 days after their page launched. They’ve continued on this growth pattern and are now at 240,000+ and growing with an average fan growth rate of 35.28% every 2 months. In October, 2010 they took out their first Facebook ad spend of $4,000 with 10 ads in rotation to generate fans for their 30th Anniversary Celebration on Facebook. The $4,000 marketplace spend got them 34,436 new fans, a rate of $0.11 per new fan. To promote a cooking show that they streamed live through Facebook in November they put $1,000 which generated 16,028 new fans, an average rate of $0.06 per new fan.
Campaign Performance
The ad stats alone (acquiring fans at an average rate of $0.11 and $0.06 per new fan) are unprecedented and the lowest cost per fan rate in Likeable history and likely in the industry.
