Tip of the Day: Completing your Profile is Key

Buzz Marketing Daily's Tip of The Day is a new feature from theKbuzz, where we provide a daily tip on marketing using social media and word of mouth. Today's tip is about Social Media Marketing-- Marketing on Facebook and beyond.

So, you've got a profile on Facebook, MySpace, Squidoo, Twitter, Friendfeed, Posterous, Bebo, LinkedIn...basically, you look for all the networks out there, and rush to join. How fun! You are officially "in the know". But none of it will do you any good if you don't really spend time and effort completing your profiles. In fact, if you don't take the time to spend on the network, there's no point in setting them up at all. You'll just get a bunch of search help, that leads people to blank profiles about you. Our tip? Take the time to really fill out all the details on your social networks of choice. Update your schools on Linked In, update your current job on Facebook, update your interests on MySpace...just complete your profiles so that when a potential client, friend, or partner stumbles upon you, they get a good understanding of who you are and why you are a good person to know. If you're going to be marketing on Facebook, or any of the other networks, make sure your profiles are up to snuff.
