Marketing Tip of the Day: Employ Brevity

William Shakespeare said that "Brevity is the soul of wit."  Twitter with its 140 character limitation is the epitome of brevity in this exciting time in the social web.  Along with other social network and bookmarking sites, like Digg and Facebook, Twitter is also very indicative of the consumption of information.  Consumers want messaging that's short and sweet.  If a tweet, status update or link is relevant or of particular interest, people will click-through and read more in-depth about the subject.

Brevity should also be applied across marketing efforts and social platforms.  For your marketing tip of the day, keep in mind how the consumption of information is among your customers when formulating marketing content.  Make sure that the message you're trying to convey can be understood in seconds. For example, create a brief one-line summary to open a blog post or newsletter article.  Consider using a picture to convey a thought.  In keeping with the theme of this post, simply get to the point.
