For today’s Watch Me Wednesday, I discuss the importance of surprise and delight in social media. A great way to engage people on Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites is to surprise and delight the customer. This encourages people to spread the word about your business not only via word of mouth but across the Internet as well. For example, on our Cumberland Farms Chill Zone Facebook page, we offered fans the chance for their own Chill Zone day if they could increase the number of Facebook fans to 75,000. Over 100,000 fans later, the company exceeded their goal and their fans received a free Chill Zone day! In fact, 50% of units sold were attributed to Facebook! Read our full case study here.
