Each month, we are presented with the task of creating new content for brands that we work with. The keyword here being new. The reason I stress this word is because too often brands reuse images and copy that their communities have already seen. According to the Custom Content Council, “90% of consumers find custom content useful and 78% believe that organizations providing custom content are interested in building good relationships with them.” If you find yourself struggling to come up with new ideas, here are three simple ways to find some content inspiration.
1. Read reviews.
Take some time to see what people have been saying about your product or service lately by reading customer reviews. From popular trends and opinions to questions and funny thoughts, real customers who use your product or service can provide a great deal of insight and content inspiration.
2. Search keywords & hashtags.
Don’t miss conversations about your brand that could be happening right beneath your nose. Search hashtags and keywords to see what people are sharing about you. This is also a great way to gather some user-generated content (UGC). As marketers, we tend to see our brand a certain way and have a certain idea of how it needs to be portrayed—seeing how consumers view and share content about our brand can be eye-opening and very useful in your overall marketing efforts.
3. Create an inspiration list.
Every day, we see copious amounts of content across social channels. When you see something you love or something that sparks an idea, SAVE IT. You can never have enough content ideas—so when you really need them, why not make it easier for yourself
As always with content, the way to achieve success is by providing value to your communities. Hopefully, these tips will help you in creating a valuable content strategy.
