When you’re in a big company and you want to grow, how would you recommend navigating that?
Do well and have passion. It’s also really key to communicate what you want to do and prove why you should be doing this. Make this known to not only your direct manager but pretty much to everyone that you meet. We all have our own personal brand and may not realize that. Every time you meet people whether it’s at a conference or a meeting, you have to put yourself out there as whatever you want to be. I made it really clear that I loved marketing and that I wanted to do that with my career. I followed my passion and stuck to my guns in terms of what I love, what I’m good at and where Whirlpool can get the most value out of my talents.
What’s next for your brand?
It’s a really exciting time for Gladiator as we focus on our brand strategy moving forward. We are 15 years old this year and we’ve got some exciting things coming up. We know we have an amazing product which is evident from our star ratings. People love our social media but we’re asking ourselves what we can do to take that to the next level. There is a lot of love for our brand and a lot of passion – it’s up to us to figure out how we unlock that.
